Accessibility statement

Our goal is WCAG 2.2 Level AA

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 are the W3C's published rules for making websites usable by people with disabilities. They have three levels, A, AA, and AAA, and Level AA is the one we build to.

Every page on this site is designed and written with WCAG 2.2 AA as the target. It's a goal, not a certificate. No outside firm has certified this site, and we don't claim every page meets every AA rule.

What the site does to make it easier to use

• Keyboard navigationYou can reach every link, button, and form field with the Tab key. A Skip to content link comes first on every page, and the Esc key closes the phone menu.
• Visible focusWhatever you've tabbed to shows a clear outline, so you can always see where you are on the page.
• Text contrastText is set dark on light or light on dark, aiming for the AA ratio of at least 4.5 to 1 for regular text. Our yellow sits behind black text, never as small text on a light background.
• Alt textPhotos of roofs and crews carry a short written description that screen readers read aloud. Images that are only decoration are hidden from screen readers.
• Forms with labelsEvery field in our estimate form has a written label, and optional fields say so. If you miss a required field, the form tells you in words which one. Spam is filtered out of sight, so there's no picture puzzle to solve.
• Phone one tap awayOur number, (616) 360-2522, sits in the header of every page and stays there as you scroll. On a phone, one tap calls us.

Known limits

The map of our Pullman office comes from Google Maps and is embedded in our pages. It's a third-party tool, so we can't change how it works with a keyboard or a screen reader.

You don't need the map to find us. Our address is written out beside it in plain text, 605 56th Street, Pullman, MI 49450, with a directions link that opens Google Maps on its own.
